On Monday we
were up early to pack up and eat as much breakfast as we could before it
was time to leave. Jane and Jaeda drove us to the metro station, where
we grabbed the red line to South Station. There we bought Fung Wah
tickets to NYC, and 30 minutes later we were on the bus and out of
there. Once in New York, we set off walking towards Pier 11. A friendly
police officer pointed us in the right direction. We stopped for an
overpriced lunch, and then waited on the ferry. The ferry was great. It
was mostly empty, the sea was calm, and we had some great views of the
skyline and shipping. It dropped us off in Atlantic Highlands where we
encountered the only problem of our day of travelling. The cab place we
walked to didn’t have an office there, just a mailbox. So back to trusty
payphones, we called a different cab company and they had a cab to us in
no time. He got us to Shannon’s house without delay, and thus ended our
travelling.
Shannon has
a sweet house, very nice looking, swimming pool, lots of computers, fast
Internet, and a crazy bed that sets itself up. Check out the movie. It’s
comfortable, too. There is also a very cute black cat, Mosi. For dinner
we went out together with Shannon, Erica (her roommate), and Sam
(Erica’s sister). I had a tasty burger at Barnacle Bill’s, and everybody
had a good time.
