Rat Staircase

Our rats are getting older, and that means less mobile. A while ago I built a quick and dirty staircase for them to make it easier to get around in their cage. Finally this week we decided that didn't cut it. So today I built a much nicer set of ramps, so now our rats can go up and down in style. Check it out on my rat cage page.

The Next Step

You just finished you're first triathlon! What are you going to do next? I'm not sure. After my initial somewhat negative feelings about Sunday's experience, I seem to be changing my mind a bit. I'm still reading tri blogs. Still thinking about different training strategies, and I'm curious how much better I could do on my next tri. And there's still the question about how I might do in an open water swim.

<strike>Swim</strike> Run, Bike, Run

Today, I completed the Strawberry Fields Triathlon. Danielle and I got up at 6:30, which is kind of early for a weekend. For breakfast I had a bowl of honey nut cheerios with skim milk (because my 2% milk had turned sour on me). After tending to the rats, we headed out. We managed to fit both our bikes in my car, which was nice, and we easily found a free parking spot when we arrived at the site just before 8 am.
